Why would I send my traces so far away from my application?
Well, some applications cannot run a collector close to them, like for example if you have a serverless application (e.g. cloudflare workers). Some people may prefer to avoid hosting their own opentelemetry exporter, as if their infra goes down, they loose monitoring.
